VMP Winter Newsletter 2020

There is no better time of year than WINTER! It was perfect weather for slipping into your comfy PJ’s warm from the dryer, throwing on Netflix under a fuzzy blanket and indulging in bottomless hot chocolates. Of course, alongside the chilly winds, it was another exciting season of producing engaging video and interactive content for our clients!

Metro North Hospital and Health Service // Privacy Online Training // Training Video Production

Have no fear.. WONDERMAN is here!

The VMP crew have had a SUPER time creating a suite of training videos as part of a privacy online training course, developed by VMP eLearning for Metro North Hospital and Health Service (MNHHS). VMP scripted, shot and delivered scenario-based training videos covering various topics of privacy and data security, all filmed on location at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. The videos were inspired by previous worked created for eHealth by VMP and allowed us to create the fun character ‘Wonderman’ – your friendly neighborhood co-worker turned superhero! It was WONDERFUL to work with Matthew Thomas, who brought the character to life as a true powerhouse of rules and regulations! Thanks Wonderman!

Webinar Livestreaming and Video Production // New from the VMP Team

VMP has produced live webinars for a number of satisfied clients including Queensland Department of Housing and Public Works, Australian Macadamia Society and peak bodies for the mining industry. In a time where online engagement and events are becoming ESSENTIAL to the way we connect, VMP can capture, switch and stream professional webinars and events of any occasion. With events featuring live audiences, diverse locations and integrated media, it has been a fun challenge for the team and we are thrilled to have seen such successful results!

Department of the Premier and Cabinet // Australian of the Year // Nominations Videos

The Australian of the Year Awards are a longstanding tradition that generally tie in with Australia Day Celebrations. For the Queensland contingent in 2020, VMP was invited to produce a series of videos which would showcase the 2020 Queensland recipients, as well as produce content that aimed to increase nominations for the 2021 awards. Rachel Downie (Educator and social entrepreneur), Adjunct Assistant Professor Nick Marshall (Founder, Albatross Nippers) and Peter Dornan AM (Men’s health activist) all took part in the remote interviews with additional contributions from previous Queensland AOTY recipients, the videos were rolled out on social media (YouTube, Facebook & Instagram) and have reached over 39,000 views on Facebook alone. As always, it was lovely to collaborate with the Department of the Premier and Cabinet and we can’t wait to see who our 2021 award winners are.

Queensland University of Technology // QUT Virtual Environments // 360 Video Production

Over the past few months, VMP have been working alongside QUT Science and Engineering (SEF) to capture stunning 360-degree virtual video environments. This project will allow current and future students across the globe to immerse themselves into the university’s SEF program by exploring full 360 interactive environments full of video, hotspots and handy navigational tools. Along the way we have had a lot of fun developing and testing these environments and can’t wait to see the world enjoy them too!
