07 Jun VMP Autumn Newsletter 2018
As the leaves start to fall alongside our dress standards (see: Ugg boots, tracky dakks, that thermal jumper with the curry stain), VMP has bounded towards a strong finish to the financial year. Check out everything we’ve been up to these past three months in our 2018 Autumn Newsletter!
Maggie Beer Foundation // Creating an Appetite for Life Seminar // Video Suite

The Maggie Beer Foundation, a fantastic non-profit which aims to educate Aged Care Chefs & CEO’s on the importance of good food in Aged Care Homes, required a series of promotional videos for their ‘Creating an Appetite for Life’ masterclass as well as instructional videos on how to create the recipes from the classes. One call to the VMP headquarters and a thinly-veiled fangirl moment later, our team were onboard and ready to produce, shoot, develop, and eat the leftovers.
It was our absolute pleasure to work with Maggie and her team of passionate chefs to foster discussion on the proper nutrition, planned meals, and good food that aged care residents too often go without. You’d butter keep your eyes peeled for the puree-ly informative suite of videos, which will be published on Maggie’s channels in coming months! They’re kind of a big dill.
Queensland Sentencing Advisory Council // Judge For Yourself // Youth Justice Case Study

Our appetites for justice not yet quenched, VMP were over the moon to work with the Queensland Sentencing Advisory Council on their Judge For Yourself online interactive program again this season. Following on from the suite of case study videos we produced for the same program last year, we were honoured and only slightly intimidated to spend the shorter timeframe casting, producing, shooting and editing the additional productions which highlight the Youth Justice program. Three days of filming, loads of post-production, 20 litres of coffee, and a trip to court later (for strictly professional purposes) and the videos are ready to educate the general public on sentencing practices in the Queensland Court system.

Queensland Department of Communities // MAQ Speaker Series // Event Video

Collaborating with the Queensland Department of Communities is always a pleasure! This March we had the opportunity to film a number of presentations and vox pops at the Multicultural Affairs Queensland Speaker Series event. Setting up at QUT’s Gardens Point campus, our film crew did what they do best while being educated alongside government departments and private enterprises on how to best incorporate and support people from multicultural backgrounds in the workplace. The footage then reached the capable hands of our editing team, who created a series of videos that will be distributed online to assist all Queensland businesses and organisations. VMP thanks the great team at Multicultural Affairs Queensland for the fantastic work they do in strengthening our communities and looks forward to working alongside them again in the future!

Springwood State High School // Promotional Video // Video Production

Sometimes, you just find something you’re good at. Bobby Fisher was good at chess. Buzz Aldrin was good at being the second man on the moon. Here at VMP, we seem to have a natural affinity for education-based productions. Also, writing really good newsletters.
Springwood State High School approached VMP wanting a promotional video that showcased the exceptional curriculum and activities that they offer to their students. Shooting on-location at their Springwood campus, our team focused on the key elements that make SSHS unique – from rowing and STEM to their multicultural programs and enthusiastic students – to create a cinematic video that is empowering for current students and inspiring for future ones. SSHS will be releasing the video on their website and social media in coming months, so watch this space!
Maree Davidson Art // Promotional Video // Video Production & Animation

Every now and then, a project comes along that allows the VMP team to don a selection of black turtlenecks, critically ponder the concept of Bauhausian sensibilities, and delve into Australia’s delightfully colourful artosphere. This May, we were lucky enough to be asked by dynamic artist Maree Davidson to create a promotional video showcasing the history of Maree Davidson Art and her ‘Happy Animals’ collection, which have become an icon in Brisbane’s art scene. Shooting at the picturesque Lone Pine Sanctuary, our team was proud to create a production that conveyed Maree’s love and dedication to her work – with the help of a couple of wide-eyed friends.

An Update on VMP eLearning…

The team recently completed a Training Needs Analysis for Sunfresh Linen, one of the largest laundry and linen services in South East Queensland – and their press release got published in Telegraph! We’re really proud of everyone for working around the clock to make this happen, and with such success.
