The birds are shining! The sun is singing! It’s Spring and VMP is on a roll!

S2IX Animation // Myriad Technologies // 3D Animation

After being approached by our client, Myriad Technologies, our 3D Animator extraordinaire Hamish has been working on producing a sleek promo for new tech solution, S2IX. We’ve developed a short promo that will be used in a variety of situations, including a big defence trade expo taking place in mid-November. Myriad are one to watch in the technology industry, with S2IX winning wide regard with large government agencies!

Craigslea State High School // Craigslea SHS // Video Production

We love working alongside our friends at the Department of Education and Training, so when Craigslea State High School contacted us looking for an empowering promotional video – we jumped at the chance! The VMP team’s production is centred around ‘global citizenship’, highlighting how Craigslea SHS is providing their students with the best education possible to get them leadership-ready. We filmed with our new Canon C200 to create an inspiring video in the students own voices.

Certificate II in Performing Arts // NCTC // eLearning

In VMP’s latest eLearning project to go live, a “Certificate II in Performing Arts” we’ve provided our client the capability of capturing real-life responses from students. The instant video response system is designed to allow students to just press record and say the answer. It’s that easy! It should be particularly useful with assessments that require a nuanced understanding of the subject. To accompany this new feature VMP also developed 29 illustrated, interactive activities to provide a contextual, engaging experience that will engage and even entertain the students

Three Fishes // 48 Hour Film Project // Video Production

This year, VMP decided to have a crack at the 48 Hour Film Project and create a short film in the space of one weekend. After being given the genre of fantasy, we developed the idea of an unlucky fisherman who just can’t catch a break (let alone a fish) – a Friday night beer + pizza-fuelled brainstorm then quickly delivered the goods. With Natalie Howatson producing and Tony Speed on screenwriting and directing, we did exceptionally well at the awards night!

It seems the passive-aggressive notes left in the VMP kitchen have finally done the trick, with the team cleaning up – taking out Audience Choice, Best Screenplay, Best Production Design, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Third Place overall! A massive shout out to all of the VMP team who worked their magic to make the film a reality, as well as all of our competitors who created fantastic films!

Carrara Property Development // iCreate // Video Production

Having worked with the dynamic iCreate team earlier in the year, VMP was asked to create an engaging promotional video for a new residential area in Carrara on the Gold Coast. The day was long, but the stunning view and hard working cast & crew made it a breeze to get through (would you look at that sunset!). The final product will incorporate the footage VMP captured with iCreate, as well as high quality renders of the development. This will allow the developers to showcase their stunning building, and help potential buyers see the appeal of living in such an amazing area. Trust us, we’d do pretty much anything for a view like that!

eLearning Update // Various Projects

VMP eLearning has been busy this season, with a number of new projects and development kit maintenance underway. We’ve been partnered with CS Energy since the start of the year to develop induction and training courses for new employees, which is looking to be rolled out as soon as possible. We’ve also been working on further maintaining our courses with the Queensland Fire and Rescue service, as well as Bank of Queensland. eLearning has been a major part of 2017 for the VMP team, and we’re looking forward to continuing to develop connections with clients in this area!
